|Visit from yesterday: Two Waterrails and Bittern were seen from Carlton Hide. Another Bittern was seen from River Pool. 15 Siskins on way to Carlton Hide and many Redwings and Fieldfare. Apparantly a Marsh Tit was also reported as being near the centre|

Milder, damp, pools iced over.
Robin, blue tit,blackbird,dunnock,mallard,coot,buzzard (2 @ close quarters),tufted duck,bl hd gull,greylag goose,great tit,magpie,crow,gadwall,moorhen,shoveler,mute swan,teal,pheasant,kestrel,treecreeper (2),snipe,long tailed tit,greenfinch,jay,bullfinch (6),goldfinch,redwing,wren,chaffinch,reed bunting,feral pigeon.

|Took my other half to Brandon for a few hours today and said on route that she might see a Bittern, we both saw a Bittern fly in to West Marsh Pool and wade in to the reeds, possible second Bittern flew off a few minutes later from 250 metres further up?|

Horstail Glade - Tawny Owl (1)
East Marsh Pool - White Fronted Goose (1), Barnacle Goose (1), Goosander (1F), Snipe (2) and Escapee New Zealand Scaup was also showing along with possible Lesser Scaup, general consensus is Tufted/Pochard Hybrid!
Bittern from West Marsh as per Paul's report below plus 2 Bittern on River Pool for around 5 minutes @ 11am (sorry Paul, should have stayed :)
