13.30-18.00, birds of note - 4 Green Sandpiper (Teal Pol), 1 LRP, juv Water Rail, 7 Common Tern including 4 juv birds, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Hobby, Buzzard, good numbers of Swallow, House and Sand Martins.

Wednesday afternoon - 6 to 8 Green woodpeckers on or near tip, 4 x Snipe on East Marsh Island along with 1 x Ring Plover, many Lapwings, Starlings. Various Dragon Fly around the reserve.

Monday afternoon - Kingfisher seen at Steetley fishing and on pole, also seen flying around East Marsh. Various Butterflies around the tip area, not an expert but many of them and various colours. Also saw a line of Stoats running along the path leading to the tip, a first for me.

8-30 - noon. Teal Pool; 3 Green Sandpipers. East Marsh; Little Ringed Plover, 2 broods of Tufted Duck with 6 + 5 ducklings. Steetley; Kingfisher, Hobby in dead tree. Carlton; Little Grebe. 2 young Foxes (one on West Marsh + one on Old Tip area).

Steve - gate opened for us although it was very slow and hesitant and didn't seem to like us creeping forward. Two barn owls outside the nest box from about 9:10pm. Tern chick on one of the pontoons. Lots of lapwings, but too gloomy to see much else.
