Eight Waxwings sighted at the rear of the main centre, and again four at the far side of the carpark. Goldeneye showing well.

Spend an hour in the Car Park at around midday and managed 1 Waxwing which was within the large flock of Siskin/Lesser Redpoll, thanks to Derek Bennett!!

Short Eared Owl (quartering Sheep Field @ 7.30am, Bittern (flew towards River Avon from Newlands @ 7.50am, Little Egret over Central Marsh path @ 8.15am!

Thursday 18th November 2010. Some rain & cold. Nuthatch, great blue coal & long tail tits, magpie, chaffinch, redwing, fieldfare, blackbird, woodcock ( flushed walking through Horsetail Glade ),siskin, goldfinch, tufted duck, coot, mallard, gadwall, shoveler, crow, pheasant, treecreeper, moorhen, teal, cormorant, bl hd gull, lapwing, jay, sniperobin, woodpigeon, bullfinch ( 10 - 5M 5F - in bushes at same time by Carlton Hide ), dunnock, kingfisher, greylag goose,goldeneye, song thrush, canada goose,greenfinch, feral pigeon.

on the 17th i watched the bittern for 20 minutes eating a perch (must of been 4 oz) east marsh hide in the channel left of hide
ive also seen a willow tit behind the bench before you get to the carlton hide it was there 3 times last week
