|14:45-16:45 Redhead SMEW still on River Pool. Yelllow-legged Gull and Water Rail from East Marsh Hide. Good display by Starlings from Carlton Hide (15:45-16:30).|

|10am-2pm 51 species inc. SMEW (redhead on River Pool), Goldeneye (3), Sparrowhawk, Snipe (13+), Yellow-legged gull(?), Kingfisher (from Steetley Hide), Green and GS Woodpecker, Song Thrush, Cetti's Warbler (2 heard), Goldcrest (5), Lesser Redpoll.
Also saw a weasel (10.30am near the sign pointing towards Steetley Hide).

|NO sign of the SMEW however...
At least 40 Lesser-redpoll at various alders around the reserve.
The 2000ish Starling FLOCK seen from the Carlton Hide till 1610 ish. Plus a Bittern flew across reed bed @ 1630.

|2.00pm - 4.30pm:
Red-head SMEW, Goldeneye, Shoveler, Teal, Kingfisher (flew by on a few occasions)
Highlight was the 2000+ Starling murmuration seen from the Carlton Hide from 4pm - it lasted for about 25 mins before the birds dropped into the reeds.
