2 Water Rail - (showing well in front of Big Hide)

|Distant flight view of the Great White Egret aprrox 3pm as it flew a short distance over Newlands. Approx same area as the Woodchat Shrike was. We moved on to the Olive Bench hoping it might appear again but not to be. Was reported in the morning according to the book in visitors centre.

|Thursday 14.00 hours. From Carlton Hide: Bittern flew high from Newlands towards East Marsh/Teal Pool. No-one in either hide to confirm progress. A N Other reported Bittern flying over Teal Pool towards Newlands in the morning.|
