Bittern flying from West Marsh, Goosander, possible Lesser Scaup [but probably a hybrid], Barnacle Goose, LW-F Goose. Not a bad morning!

Bittern watched for over an hour & a half from Carlton Hide along with 15 people who were watching or taking photographs. It walked amongst the reeds and out over the thin ice, a couple of times amusingly, it fell through. Really chuffed for the lady who's been coming to Brandon for over 3 years to see one!

Bittern seen from Carlton hide at 12.40pm great views as it walked across the ice causing great excitement! There were 13 of us watching, unluckly brilliant!

While at steely hide, one bittern flew into reeds then a second bird flew over in the direction of teal hide. definite 2 separate birds at 9.50

Ground frozen/ pools iced over/faint sun.
Buzzard,sparrowhawk,kestrel,blackbird, moorhen,robin,wren,magpie,woodpigeon, great and blue tits,redwing,mute swan, mallard,LBB Gull,bl hd gull,teal, shoveler,tufted duck,gadwall,grey heron,crow,greenfinch,feral pigeon,GS woodpecker,dunnock,nuthatch, bullfinch,coot.
