No sign of Wood Sandpiper at 20:00 although it had been reported at 19:00 - However light was poor. Other items of interest - Two Shelduck on Teal Pool, One Snipe still on East Marsh, Barn Owl from Carlton Hide. Also Fox and Badgers round Carlton Hide

This evening between 18:45 and 21:15.

Many Cettis Warblers calling [managed to spot 2], Garden Warblers (5), Many Willow Warblers, Chiff Chaffs and Whitethroats, Blackcaps (2), Bullfinches (3), Swift (1 over), a Great Spotted Woodpecker calling, Green Woodpeckers (2), WHINCHATS [on Newlands] (2), Many Sedge Warblers and Reed Warblers singing, Grasshopper Warblers (2) [managed to spot 1], Little Ringed Plovers (3), Ringed Plovers (2), Snipe (2), Oystercatchers (2), Gadwall (4), Shovellers, Tufties, Lapwings, House Martins, Sand Martins, Swallows, Buzzards (2), Kingfisher (1), Little Grebe (1), Great Crested Grebe (1), Cuckoos (3) – One in dead tree calling and being answered by one near Teal Pool area and one over the Golf Course. HOBBY (1), Barn Owl (2), Common Tern (6) and Water Rail (2).

Wildlife: Many Rabbits, Voles (“Bank” presumably?), Badgers, a Muntjac and Pipistrelle bats by the Visitors Centre.
