Many Blue Tits & Great Tits, Robin, Dunnock, Blackbird, Bullfinch, Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Reed Bunting, 2 x GS Woodpecker. 2x lapwing, 4x Snipe, Water Rails (heard only), Grey Heron (flyover), c80 BH Gulls, up to 10 Common Gulls, Cormorant. Shoveler, Tufties, Mallard, Pochard, Teal, Gadwall, Greylag Goose and one Barnacle Goose (Feral).

47 species seen, birds of note:
Willow tit, Snipe, Water rail, Cetti's warbler, Pintail (pair), Common gull (3), Lesser black backed gull (2), Goldeneye, Grey wagtail.
'The' Barnacle goose is around. Several Black-headed gulls in full or partial summer plumage, of a 150+ flock.
Aythya hybrid - appears to be ScaupxPochard.

Bittern (flew into reed bed in front of East marsh hide at 16:30, later at 17:30 flew back to Newlands), Water Rail, Goldeneye (2 f 1 m), Redwing (30+), Fieldfare (2+), Cetti's (calling), usual ducks etc.
Reported on Carlton pool Green Sandpiper, also present yesterday.

1x White-fronted Goose at Northern End of Grebe Pool at 3:20pm today (Sunday 28th January 2006).

All the usual ducks and things; c.25 Pochard, Several wigeon, c.30 Shoveller. Only two Lawing, 2 Reed bunting, 3 Lesser redpoll (by hut - volunteer hut?), Greater pecker, Buzzard over, c.50 Fieldfare, c.100 Redwing (mostly coming in to roost), at least 3 Cetti's calling (newlands reedbed), at 2 Water rail calling (Newlands again), Goldcrest in bramble at East marsh hide.
Raven seen over by another person.
Hung around to see if the Bittern would move to roost at Newlands, but not seen all day (at least by the people i spoke to).
