Birds of Note: East Marsh- 2 Yellow Wagtails, 1 Grey Wagtail, 3 Pied Wagtails, 1 shovler,2 Common Sandpipers, 2 Redshank, 2 each Ringed and LRP's, 4 Oystercatchers, Cuckoo,Kingfisher, Garden Walber (along path to Wright Hide), Willow, Sedge, Reed plus Cetti's Warblers, Chiffchaff also numberous Blackcaps (mostly ♀s today)

NIGHTINGALE still present (left of Carlton, Hide). Also seen - Common Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover (2), Oystercatcher (2), Redshank, Cuckoo (2) and plenty of warblers seen/heard incl Garden.

Morning Visit Highlights:
Hobby (1 over Big Hide, seen later on West Marsh), Swift (5), Lesser Whitethroat (1), Grasshopper Warbler (1 reeling Nr Golf course), Cuckoo (2), Shelduck (5), Oystercatcher (4), Redshank (3), Little-ringed Plover (3), Ringed Plover (2), Common Sandpiper (1), Snipe (1), Common Tern (2), NIGHTINGALE (1 in song Nr Carlton Hide around mid-morning)

Usual Warblers and Hirundines!

24/04/12 1730-2100; Birds of note- NIGHTINGALE still left of Carlton hide, Swift over EM,Cuckoo,2 Redshank,2 LRP'S, 1 Ring Plov, 2 O/Catchers, 3 Shellduck,3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and Barn Owl. Reed,Sedge and Cetti's Warblers heard. There was well over 20 Blackcaps seen around the reserve. Also of note a large Pike approx 1m long attacked and swallowed another Pike 2/3rds the size of it in front of us in Carlton hide.

Birds of Note- NIGHTINGALE heard singing just before Teal Hide and along path to Carlton Hide this afternoon.East Marsh- White Wagtail on Willow Island as well as 2 Redshank, 2 Ringed and 2 LRP's, 3 Oystercatchers, 2 Snipe, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 2 Shellduck, Kingfisher. Also Lesser Whitethroat corner Golf Course/Newlands, at least 4 Whitethoats, 2 Willow Tits, plus several Blackcap, Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff and Cetti's Wablers around reserve. Also 1 Raven seen from Sheep Field over Brandon Wood.
