A mink also spotted in west marsh pool.

WOOD SANDPIPER, barn own, cuckoo and song thrush were the highlights on a beautiful sunny evening.
Also ringed plover, dunlin, tufted duck, cormorant, mallard, common tern, black headed gull, oystercatchers and chicks, lapwing, blackbird, Canada goose, greylag goose, pheasant, blue tit, swift.

|11.00-18.30 Birds of note- WOOD SANDPIPER, Dunlin, 3 Redshank, 5 LRP's and 1 Ringed Plover, 4 Oystercatchers + 2 chicks, Common Sandpiper, 2 shellduck,2 (pr) Red Crested Pochard, 14 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 10 Black Headed Gulls and 8 Common Terns all East Marsh. Cuckoo on Central Marsh plus Hobby over top reed bed. Usual Warblers plus good numbers of hirundines.|

WOOD SANDPIPER on teal pool then later on east marsh. 2 red crested pochard, dunlin, ♀ yellow wagtail, 2 Little Ringed Plover, ringed plover, 4 oystercatcher, 2 shelduck, 2 shoveler, 9 common tern all on east marsh. cuckoo new hare covert and 2 more from newlands to new hare covert and back again.

Saw lots including:
Barn Owl (from 7.05pm onwards showing extremely well from the Carlton Hide), Blackcap (♂), Cetti's Warbler, Common Sandpiper, Common Tern, Cuckoo (heard only), Gadwall, Lapwing with young, Little Ringed Plover, Mallard with ducklings, Oystercatcher, Red-crested Pochard, Redshank x 2, Swallow, Swift, WOOD SANDPIPER
Saw 2 x Muntjac Deer from the East Marsh Hide feeding on the land on the right hand side for a brief period. Plenty of Rabbits around also!

Blackcap, whitethroat, reed bunting, redshank, tufted duck, common tern, mute swan, mallard, lapwing, swift, swallow, Canada goose & chicks, blackbird, grey heron and great views of barn owl with prey.

|Drake Garganey still on EMP this evening along with the Red Crested Pochard pair. Two Cuckoos over Newlands and the usual warblers all in good voice (especially the Blackcaps)|
