Of note today, East Marsh Hide,2 x Green Sandpiper, 4 x Redshank with 2 x chicks, LRP, 2 x Ringed Plover, 4 x Common Tern, 4 x Cormorant, 2 x GC Grebe, 4 x Oycs ( 1 juv), Kingfisher, Gulls, 12 x BH, 16 x LBB, 2 x Herring, Teal Pool Hide, Fulvous Whistling Duck, 3 x GS Woodpecker ( 1 juv ), Ted Jury Hide, 2 x Hobby, 2 x Kestrel, 4 x Linnet, Steetley Hide, 2 x Buzzard, Kingfisher, Tip Area, 2 x Green Woodpecker.

Butterflies: marbled white, large skipper, ringlet, meadow brown, speckled wood, red admiral. Moths: chimney sweeper, yellow shell. Lots of banded demoiselle (m and f).

Mon 9.45pm Otter hunting around the edges of water in front of Carlton. Stayed in or on the edge of the reeds and seemed fairly small so probably not a Dog Otter.

Sunday late night visit - 8.30-11.15 - 4 x Glow worms on side of path near golf green. One very loud Grasshopper Warbler calling out near the bench on same path.

Sunday evening visit, 7.45pm - 10pm:
Mallard with young ducklings & several Teal seen from Teal Pool hide. 2 x Hobby seen from the Ted Jury hide, one of which was sitting in the tree in front of the hide for quite a while. The highlight of the evening .... Otter seen at 9.30pm in front of the Carlton hide. It stayed out on the pool for a good 10 minutes or more, fantastic views. Video will be added to my site soon.
