37 cormorants at roost, 2 grasshopper warblers 'reeling' one at carlton and one at sheep field. 6 glow worms around wright hide

hobby catching dragonfly 10 feet in front of carlton hide, plus kingfisher fishing in front of steetley hide for 15 minutes were the highlights of the day. also 2 Green Sandpiper carlton hide. others include stock dove, green and gs woodpeckers, cettis, reed and sedge warblers, redshank, ringed plover, oystercatcher, bullfinch, buzzard, and kestrel

Sat 6.00am Damp mild and cloudy. Still plenty songbird singing.Heard Blackcap Garden Warbler Willow Warbler ChiffChaff Song Thrush Cetti's Warbler and Dunnock all still giving it large as I ambled between Car Park and Carlton.
Sightings: Green Wood pecker Jay Blackcap on way to Teal Pool where 1st of 3 Green Sandpipers were viewed. Onto Carlton Hide where 2 kingfishers posed preened and fished for around 15 minutes on the posts and poles set for such purpose. A delight.Hobby in the dead tree in front right stayed briefly before dashing off low towards East Marsh. Walk back to East Marsh Hide and watched handfuls of Sand Martins including one going into holes opposite plus 3 or 4 Common Terns screeching and diving about. L R Plovers on middle island finished a Happy hour and half. Keith Barnsley

Tuesday Evening
Carlton Hide-OTTER seen just after 21.30 swam down the length of the pool before dissappearing down inlet left of hide, Barn Owl showing well from 20.30, also from Carlton Hide- Sparrowhawk, 2 Green Sandpiper, 5 Oystercatchers. Tawny Owl seen while walking from Carlton Hide by bench at 22.10

Yesterdays main sightings- East Marsh- Water Rail with at least 4 chicks in front of EM Hide, 6 Oystercatchers (2 chicks), 7 LRP's ( 3 chicks), 2 Ringed Plovers, 6 Redshank (2 chicks),5+ Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 7+ Common Tern, Cuckoo. Charlton Hide- Kingfisher, 2 Green Sandpipers, Linnet, Kestral plus a young Moorhen that every so often would appear to fall over backwards then precede to walk backwards before carrying on as normal
