Also 2 lads with fishing rods smashing through the reeds to the far right of Taylor Hide trying to get to River Pool & getting stuck . Then later setting up to fish at Goose Pool

Whinchat on Top Reedbed near entrance gate 10.45 this morning. Also Hobby (2, Ted Jury), Cuckoo (2 seen, one in flight behind Ted Jury, 1 nr River Pool hide), Kingfisher (Steetley), 12+ Buzzards all soaring at once (from Teal Pool Hide, 11.30)

Sun 20 May. Good sightings of 2 ♂ Cuckoos and a Cetti's Warbler. ♂ and ♀ Beautiful Demoiselle (Calopteryx virgo) and ♀ White-legged Damselfly (Platycnemis pennipes) from path between Mick Taylor/River Pool and Steetley hides.

5:50 to 8:05am Sun Morn 41 Species. Highlights: Muntjac. Lesser Whitethroat. 4 Cuckoos. Min 10 Common Tern. Green Woodpecker. 5 Lapwing plus 2 chicks. 2 LBBGulls. Buzzard (quickly seen off by Gulls) Little Ringed Plover. 2 Gadwall.

19th May, afternoon visit. Several Blackcap, Garden Warbler, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Sedge and Rees Warblers, 3 Cettiā€™s, 2 Whitethroat. Green Woodpecker, Great spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch - centre feeder and one with food near wood meadows. Long-tailed , Blue and Great Tit, Cuckoo - ♂ and ♀, Hobby, Little ringed Plover 2, Lapwing - 5 chicks seen, Oystercatcher - 3 chicks seen, Redshank, Common Terns, Sand Martins, c6 Swallows, Grey Heron, Reed Bunting ♂ with food, 4Black-headed Gull and 2 Lesser Black back Gull, Pheasant, Moorhen, Coot, Canada and GreyLag Geese, Gadwallc25, Mallard with ducklings and Tufted Duck. Greenfinch singing, Chaffinch,.Dunnock 3 singing.
Several Banded Demoiselle, Orange tip, 1 Brimstone and Comma.

Evening stroll to Ted Jury hide 19:15 to 20:40 hrs . 4 Cuckoos* around dead trees including at least 1 bubbling ♀. Also 3 Heron. Cettis Warbler. 2Lesser Black-backed Gulls _ 1 Herring Gull. Sparrow Hawk briefly late on.
