Red Kite (1 drifted from the east over Newlands at 12:30 ), Hobby (2 hawking Newlands early afternoon), Cuckoo ( 2 pair - included one Rufous), Dunlin (1), Common Sandpiper (1), Grasshopper Warbler (1 on Farm Pool Reeds), Garden Warbler (3), Cettis Warbler (3 heard)

WOOD SANDPIPER still on Willow Island, 3 Ringed plovers, 4 Redshank (one pair still with 4 chicks), 4 Oystercatchers (1 pair with 2 chicks and the other pair with 3 chicks), 5 Shelduck, 4 Common Tern, Cuckoo, Kestrel, Buzzard, 10+ Swift, 20+ Swallow, 20+ Sand & 50+ House Martins, Sedge & Reed Warblers, Lesser Whitethroat in large Hawthorn between Wright Hide & start of path to River Hide, also Garden Warbler just passed EM hide. Note the pair of Oystercatchers noted on Sunday with 4 chicks are now down to 2, a Carrion Crow was observed taking the 3rd chick early this afternoon plus trying to take one of the others after this.

Birds of note 08.30-18.30 - 2 Little Egrets, 3 GC Grebe, 2 Little Grebe, Barnicle Goose(feral), 4 Ringed & 3 Little Ringed Plovers, Common Sandpiper, 5 Redshank ( one pair with 4 young), 7+ Oystercatchers (again one pair with 4 young), 6+ Lapwing ( good number of chicks), Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Hobby, 100+ Swift, 60+ House Martins, 20+ Swallows plus good numbers of Sand Martins, Kingfisher, Green&GS Woodpeckers, Cuckoo, Treecreeper, Goldcrest, 2+ Garden Warblers, Cetti's Warbler, numerous Sedge, Reed, Willow Warblers, Chiffchaff & Blackcaps around the reserve, 2 Bullfinch, 2+ Linnet.
