Juvenile grass snake swimming across length of West Marsh Pool (2nd spotted in second recent visit, both swimming).
Ruddy duck on East Marsh pool.
Hobby by Carlton pool, in dead tree.

Nice afternoon, but the track to River Pool hide was a bit flooded. 48 species noted including Cuckoo, Hobby, Kingfisher, Bullfinch, Garden Warbler, Shoveler, Gadwall, Ringed Plover, Sedge Warbler, Jay and Whitethoat. Another 5 species heard but not seen. Also Muntjac spotted on the ground between Piles Coppice and the railway line.

Bullfinch, Kingfisher, Cettis Warbler, Garden Warbler (2 in Hope Wood), Reed Warbler (2 from East Marsh hide & 2 from carlton hide), Sedge Warbler near Golf course, Common Whitethroat (2), Cuckoo & Stock Dove (2) at Newlands. Fledglings on East Marsh were: Ringed Plover (2), Mute Swan (5), Greylag (5), Moorhen (5), GC Grebe (1 with 1 also on Grebe Pool), Oystercatcher (2). Also 3 Moorhen chicks top of Swallow pool.

Saw the fox on wigeon bank make several attempts to cross to one of the islands where there were several Canada Geese with young. It eventually gave up and moved off into the trees.
