Saturday 7/6 5.30-8.30pm Highlights: Linnet 4, Bullfinch pair - Old Conveyor Track, Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers, lots of the commoner warblers, Nuthatch, Oystercatcher and 2 juv, Redshank and 4 juv, Common Tern 4, Cuckoo 2 heard, Woodcock north over Brandon Lane from Top Pools towards old landfill site. Fox on Meadow between Farm Pool and Old Hare Covert.

Just a warning to any visitors to Brandon Marsh this weekend. The green electric gate is not working, the grey gate will be unlocked at 8 am and relocked at 10 pm each day . Please keep the grey gate clear. Sorry for any inconvenience, the reserve manager is aware and it will be sorted asap

Monday Evening - Two Cuckoo's flying together over Newlands. Two Barn Owls over Newlands. One large Dog Otter swimming in the channel in front of Carlon Hide between 9.15 and 10, only fleeting glances.

Five plus greater spotted woodpecker fledglings, one by goose pool others in trees at start of track to east marsh pool all calling to be fed, parents calling back also white throat chick being fed a huge peacock butterfly (which he managed to swallow after a struggle)
