Brandon this morning (0930/1300)
Sat in east marsh hide, watching a heron take a young redshank, hold its neck, hold it under water several times, attempt to devour it while under attack from a parent bird. Must have taken 15-20 minutes to devour.
Oystercatcher (3); Redshank; Cettis Warbler (8); Willow Warbler (4); Grasshopper Warbler (1 heard); Whitethroat (7); Buzzard (2); Hobby (1); Gt Cr Grebe (2); Pochard (2); Sedge Warbler; Jay; Grren Woodpecker; Gadwall; Stock Dove; Heron (12); Kingfisher (2); Reed Warbler;.
Also good to see some ringing (Kingfisher, Cettis Warbler, Reed Bunting).
Seen in Book Green Sandpiper (guess who didn't see it) and a report of a Black Tailed Godwit.
