6:00am to 7:30am. Cracking views of Cettis Warbler belting out its explosive song from Steetley Hide. Blackcaps singing all way round. Few Waders on islands just 2 Redshank & LRP. Sedge, Willow warblers. No sign of Cuckoo or Grasshopper Warblers...

From hides: Kestrel, Redshank, Teal, Grey Heron, Jay, Sandmartins, Tufted Ducks, Chiffchaff, Cetti's Warbler, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Ringed Plovers, Buzzard, Canada Geese and Greylag Geese, Coot, Moorhen and Mallard, Great Tit, L-T Tits and Blue Tit.

By feeders outside Centre: G.S Woodpecker, Reed Bunting, Greenfinch and Chaffinch.

Cuckoo flew low over East Marsh 06:30hrs. White throat between Carlton & Ted Jury Hides 06:50. Greenshank landed on island East Marsh 07:15. Also: Min 4 Cettis Warbler Water Rail. Common Sandpiper.

East marsh; Dunlin, Common Sandpiper, Ringed Plover, Little Ringed Plover (4), Oystercatcher (4), Wigeon (♂) Shelduck (2). Teal Pool; Green Sandpiper, Redshank (2). Carlton hide; Common Whitethroat. Also Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler (4) & good numbers of Blackcap, Willow Warbler & Chiffchaff.. Roe Deer seen on path to sheep field at 9.35.

Very quiet on East Marsh today: Common Sandpiper, LR and Ringed Plovers on main island, with all usual species.

Cettis, Reed seen and Sedge Warblers calling, as were several Wren and Chiff Chaff.

Birds of note, Sunday, April 9, 9am - 4.45pm: Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Ringed Plover, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Redshank, 2 Snipe, Little Egret, 4 Oystercatcher, 2 Shelduck. Good numbers of Willow Warbler and Blackcap now in. Very vocal Chiffchaffs and Cetti's Warblers all around the reserve. Sedge Warbler heard but not seen. Noisy five-strong party of Jay flying around during the day. Drake Goosander on Swallow Pool.
