Numerous Chiffchaff & Sand Martin + Buzzard (2), Kestrel (2), Cetti's Warbler (1 heard ~ 1 seen)

|Saturday, March 25, 10am-4pm: Of note - East Marsh: 4 Oystercatcher, 2 Redshank in front of hide, 5 Great Crested Grebe (briefly displaying at times), 2 Snipe, Dunlin. Swallow Pool: Drake Goosander. Lots of Chiffchaff and Goldcrest around the reserve. Usual other suspects!|

|Baldwin Hide - 3* GC Grebes including the entangled ♂, pair Oystercatchers checking out nest sites on small island.
Goldcrest end of Baldwin bridge.
East Marsh - Pair of Mute Swans with 5 grown young. Adults starting to chase them off....
Great to see pair of Treecreepers taking materials into a nest site.
Same place they've used previously, and several times.

|Wed March 22nd. 2-4.00pm Weather Cool, bit windy, cloudy, previously heavy rain. Bird song everywhere, Spring has Sprung. Lots of species today, too many to list. But kicking off. Redwing. Song Thrush. Bullfinch in several places. Nuthatch. Goldcrest. Chiffchaff's Calling. Cettis. Both Woodpeckers. Kestrel. Stock Doves. Coot making nest. EMP. Goldeneye. Pr GC Grebes 'Dancing' + one other. Lots of Shoveler. Yellow Legged Gull. Pr Redshank. Pr Snipe. And a small wader I couldn't see clearly possibly Little Ringed Plover but its head markings and beak were not obvious so a bit strange, smaller than the Snipe. Little Egret right in front of EM Hide! Oystercatcher. Sand Martins. Good Day Again!|

|Of note, 19.3.17: 1st Winter MEDITERRANEAN GULL (briefly for five minutes at 15.50 - quick wash and brush-up then gone!), one Dunlin, three Redshank, four Oystercatcher, four Snipe, drake Pintail, drake Goldeneye, lots of Chiffchaff singing around reserve.|
