|Very quiet on East Marsh today: Common Sandpiper, LR and Ringed Plovers on main island, with all usual species.
Cettis, Reed seen and Sedge Warblers calling, as were several Wren and Chiff Chaff.

|Birds of note, Sunday, April 9, 9am - 4.45pm: Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Ringed Plover, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Redshank, 2 Snipe, Little Egret, 4 Oystercatcher, 2 Shelduck. Good numbers of Willow Warbler and Blackcap now in. Very vocal Chiffchaffs and Cetti's Warblers all around the reserve. Sedge Warbler heard but not seen. Noisy five-strong party of Jay flying around during the day. Drake Goosander on Swallow Pool.|

Swallow Pool, Goosander(drake, still), Central Marsh Track, Treecreeper, Baldwin Hide, 2 x Egyptian Goose(Walton Isl.), East Marsh Hide, Wigeon(drake), Common Snipe, Little Egret, 2 x Shelduck, 2 x LRP, Ringed Plover, 4 x Oycs, 2 x Redshank, 2 x Swallow, Raven(over), Kingfisher, 2 x G C Grebe, Sedge Warbler, 2 x Cettis Warbler, Ted Jury Hide, Little Grebe, 2 x Kestrel, Green Sandpiper, Little Egret. Reserve well supported by many Chiffchaff, Blackcap Sand Martin and Willow Warblers also Orange Tip, Brimstone, Peacock and Comma Butterfly with Bee Fly.|

|3 Black Godwits & my 1st Swallow of the year were a bonus to the amazing Dawn Chorus around New Hare Covert 1st light this morning. Dominated by Wren Blackbird & Robin but a single Blackcap together with Song Thrush made for a rapturous sound & the majority of Warblers haven't arrived yet! Further round the patch I heard a min of 4 Cettis Warbler (briefly seeing one) several Chiffchaff & of course Blue & Great tits everywhere.|
